With a Lisboa card, a wonderful starting point of your trip can be at the Story Center . It tells you the stories and memories of Lisbon. At Comercio Square(Praça do Comércio), you can see the statue of Jose I Don't miss Lisboa Story Centre to find more about Lisbon. The Story Center is at the Comercio Square , Praça do Comércio. It's also called Terreiro do Paço, meaning Palace yard. Sounds familiar? The metro stop right next to the Story Center is named after it. Heralding 2019 with spectacular fireworks.

Watching fireworks is fun but going back to your home-away-home may not be that fun. Look at the crowd. It's a mayhem.  There are three most populated firework spots in Lisbon. 1.  Comercio Square (Praça do Comércio) Getting to Comerico Square can be challenging. There are security check points to avoid any unfortunate incidents. If you get there too late, it will take a long time to access the square and in worst case, you might not get in at all. Right after the fireworks, a lot of people want to say hello to their loved ones who are not at the square with them. So your mobile phone might not work for about 10 minutes just like mine last night. Don't panic. It will work soon enough. Right after the fireworks, it's impossible to hail a taxi or use a Uber service. Sometimes you can't even find your own car because it can be disorienting with all the people yelling and pushing each other. Just TOO MUCH. Better hang out at the square for an hou...

'Passagem de Ano' in Lisbon

It's the end of the year.   If you are visiting New York, right now you are headed to Time Square to watch the balldrop.  You might wonder what the balldrop is and why they do it.  If so, here  is the info.  In Lisbon, many people go to Comercio Square (Praça do Comércio) to celebrate. It's a wonderful place to say farewell to 2018 while watching fireworks. There is also live show you can enjoy, too.  The festivities have been going on since 29th and today the last day of 2018 the live show will be on at 10 p.m.  Right after finishing this story, I am heading to Praça do Comércio, too. You can usually access the square through Terreiro do Paço metro station . However on New Year's eve, it is closed. So it'd be better to get off at Baixa-Chiado metro station and walk up there. The announcements of Lisbon metro are usually in Portuguese, so if you don't speak the language, it's safe to follow the crowd. Whereve...
