Sintra, now I understand why it is called Eden

이미지
My trip to Sintra just 25 km from Lisbon started at the Oriente Train Station. Every ten minutes or so the train takes people to this heavenly city. Don't get me wrong. As a Lisbonian, which I am proud of calling myself, I do love my city. However, it's worth visiting Sintra. I went there twice and both times the weather was gorgeous. Much colder than here in Lisbon, but warm enough to walk through the palaces and parks. My favorite is the Quinta da Regaleira, not the Pena Palace. Well, the Pena Palace is definitely colorful and beautiful but just too many people to enjoy the visit. Too popular I guess. Here are my must-see list in Sintra. (1) Quinta da Regaleira. Don't need any explanation. Please just go visit. (2) Pena Palace and Park Inside of the palace is full of history and the park itself is very grand. Don't miss the Chalet of the Countess. It's quite a walk but worth the visit. Unfortunately, I got lost in the park and couldn't ...

Sintra, the best place to be

이미지
There are a lot of places to visit in Sintra. And too many people all the time. It's really hard to see all the must-sees in Sintra in just one day. So it takes at least two days, I guess. When you know the Portuguese history, visiting palaces gets much more interesting. Here are the list of places in Sintra, I have visited so far. (1) Pena Castle and Park.  Entrance fee: 14 euros. Garden only: 7.5 euros (2) Quinta da Regaleira  Entrance fee: 8 euros (3) National Palace of Sintra  Entrance fee: 10 euros (4) Monserrate Entrance fee: 8 euros (5) Queluz Palace  Entrance fee: 10 euros. Garden only: 5 euros. My favorite is Quinta da Regaleira. Next year, they will raise the entrance fee again. They always do every two years. So if you are planning to visit Sintra, do so this year.
