To enjoy a Carnival Parade with your family and friends, you have to know where each freguesia has its parade.
In Lisbon, Carnival Parades are run by each Junta de Freguesia so it's kind of small and each freguesia has a different schedule. this photo is from wikipedia For example, Penha de França and Misericórdia had its own carnival parade on March 1st. Desfile means parade~ And you can check each freguesia's website to find more about its events. The most touristy freguesias are those of Misericórdia and Santa Maria Maior. So it's good to check their website before your visit to Lisbon. Misericórdia's website didn't have no info on the parade but Santa Maria Maior's had detailed info. It was very useful. And Santa Maria Maior's also had info on a free photo exhibition. Each freguesia has different level of usefulness. I mean some offer very good info and others don't. The website of Parque das Nações Freguesia is one of the best. So I decided to participate its parade with my family and friends. That's for another day...
