Palacio Foz, April 1st recital

Palacio Foz offers some opportunities to listen to good music in a palace. Almost every Monday when you visit there at least by 5:10 and wait in line for twenty minutes, they open the door at 5:30. The events usually start at 6:00 and they last from 40 minutes to 2 hours depending on the program. In February, it was two hours featuring the famous musician Alejandro Erlich Oliva and last night it was 40 minutes featuring students of instituto gregoriano de lisboa, which is a very famous public music school in Portugal. Inside Palacio Foz This event was to commemorate the 260 anniversary of Hendel's death. The young musicians looked nervous and some did okay and others didn't. I don't have an ear for music; however, I could see how well it went just by looking at the faces of each performer right after the performance. My favorite museum in Lisbon

Today I visited my favorite museum in Lisbon again. Even though the military museum allows free admission for all every Sunday morning, there are not many people around. It's a shame. The place is full of rich history. It's a must-see. You can see all the famous historical figures from the Discovery Monument in Belem District. When you go through the entrance, make sure you look up and see all the famous faces on the ceilings. The room on the left side on the ground floor is called Vasco Da Gama Room. The ceiling has all the historical records on how Portugal discovered the world. It's just mesmerizing. And when you go up stairs, two knights on horseback greet you. On your right, you can see the modern day military history. On your left, you will be fascinated by Maria II Room. Pass through the room and you can find many more rooms rich with history.
