300 meters from my house is one of the Top Portuguese restaurants.

I am blessed enjoying my wonderful neighborhood.
A little off from the touristy spots, it boasts the calm but hip atmosphere.

Around my house, there are a lot of places to tantalize your taste buds.

Here are my recommendations.
I marked its place with a googlemap link and its rating.

(1) Brunch place
A Padaria Portuguesa
300 meters from my house.
It's a franchise place, everywhere you go, you can see this place in Lisbon.
Since my neighborhood has a lot of cute cafes, A Padaria Portuguesa doesn't get an excellent rating.
It is rated 4.0. Not bad, though.

On New Year's week, it was closed.
Such a shame my guest couldn't enjoy this place. 

(2) The best ever!!! 

Ha Tapas no Mercado 

4 minutes walk from my house.
I am begging you to go and enjoy this heavenly place.
Google rating is 4.7.
Excellent. Superb!
This friendly place wins second best at Tripadvisor in the category of Portuguese restaurants.

(3) Near Ha Tapas no Mercado
Beni's Gelato & Friends
Kids love this place.
Anyone with a sweet tooth is welcome.
Rating 4.1

(4) Restaurante Ponte Velha
Good local place to enjoy laid back dinner.
3 minutes on foot from my place.
4.5 on google rating.

(5) Restaurante Primavera
Scored 4.3 rating.
I just love the name of this place.
Spring is coming... soon.

The restaurants below are not around my house,
but still I had a good time dining with my hubby.
Always a long line

across Ramiro, there is a small square.

Don't miss the beautiful azulejos on this building. 

(6) Ramiro
Close to the Intendente Metro Station.
Always expect a long line.
You can enjoy fresh sea food.
Its rating is 4.5.

(7) Time Out
The Time Out market has everything for all visitors, near the Cais do Sodré metro station.
There are too many choices and you can get whatever you like.
Be adventurous like my hubby or stick to the usual just like me.
Marlene Vieira has 4.2 rating but it always has a place in my heart.

(8) O Sopinhas
Right next to the Comerce square.
As I don't like salty food, this is the place I go when I am in downtown area.

Enjoy your food and stay comfortable here in Lisbon.

Tram 28 vs Tram 12

Traveling here in Lisbon, everybody seems to take Tram 28. Starting point of  Tram 28  is always crowded and a long line is expected. Well, in my case, I prefer Tram 12. Starting point of Tram 12  is not that crowded. It covers only 4 kilometers but goes to all the major places. Let's compare their routes. Tram 28 Tram 12  As you can see from both pictures, Tram 12 covers Praça da Figueira, Martim Moniz, the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, the Miradouro de Santa Luzia, cathedrals and more. Besides it only takes 20 minutes to go through all the stops. I linked info on Tram 28 and Tram 12 so you can decide whatever you like. I usually remind my guests staying at the airbnb to take Tram 12 to wrap up their visits at the end of their journey. After staying in Lisbon for days, it's a good way to refresh all the fun memories you have shared with your friends and family. Only 20-minute-ride but it can leave imprints on you...

Must-sees on Tram 12 route

Taking Tram 12 from the starting poin t to the last stop only takes 20 minutes. It starts from Figueira Square, which has a statue of John I who fathered the navigator Henry. You can check out all the stops and what to see. (1) Martim Moniz  The first stop. You can see people lining up to take Tram 28. Martim Moniz Square is known to be very multi-cultural, especially at night. (2) Socorro (3) Largo Terreirnho => Just nothing that special happen. (4) Rua Lagares If you are into Alfama, the tram now passes through it. (5) São Tomé Love Fado? Then you know the legendary Queen of Fado Amalia Rodirigues . This stop has her portrait  by Vhills . It's a must-see. (6) Largo Portas Sol So famous that I am sure you know what to do here. Get off the tram to see the best viewpoint in Lisbon. You can access  ​São Jorge Castle (the castle of St. George) here but it's quite an uphill walk. (7)  Miradouro Santa Luzia   The view is much bet...

Timeout market, Ribeira market

On the way to Cascais, you usually take a train from Cais do Sodre. Right across the road, there is a beautiful building. Inside you see Time out. It is a part of Mercado da Ribeira, one of the best markets in Lisbon. Ribeira market has a long history starting around 1100. At that time, the location was the-now-city hall square near comercio square. In the 1600s, it became widely known all over Europe and its location was in front of Casa dos Bicos . During 1755 earthquake, it was destroyed and in 1771 its location finally found its way here. In 1882, the building was constructed here and this year is usually considered the starting point of this Ribeira market. So in 2007 it celebrated its 125 anniversary. In 2014, timeout market was opened inside this building and now it draws all the visitor seeking gourmet experience from all over the world.
