Things to do for booklovers in Lisbon

My husband used to go on TV
and recommend books to read on national TV in Korea.
And he traveled just to attend book fairs all over the places.

Now settled here in Lisbon,
we feel privileged to attend the biggest book event every year.

Book fans like us would appreciate the following info.

(A) Lisbon Bookfair.

Feira do Livro de Lisboa(Lisbon bookfair) is held
every year on the Edward VII Park.
This year from May 25 to June 13,
you can enjoy books, stories, foods and more at the fair.

(B) Five bookstores to visit here in Lisbon

(1) #Bertrand
Livraria · R. Garrett 73

Bertrand is the oldest one still operating bookstore in the world.
It won the Guinness World Record in 2010.
A must-visit.
Inside you can witness its history all both walls.
I just love the book smell at that place.

(2) #Simao, a petty used bookstore.
Livraria · Escadinhas de São Cristóvão 18

The smallest bookstore in Lisbon.
Probably the smallest in the world.
Simao has about 4,000 books in a very confined space.
It's just fun to visit and see this surreal place.

(3) #Palavra de Viajante
meaning traveler's word.
Livraria · R. de São Bento 34

Not only books but maps and more.
This place has it all when it comes to travel.

(4) #Fábula Urbis
Livraria · R. Augusto Rosa 27

This bookshop has everything about Lisbon in various languages.
It's fun to find books in your own mother tongue.

The owners are very sweet and welcome every visitor.
Very close to Lisbon Cathedral.

(5) #LerDevagar
It means read slowly.
Livraria · 1300, R. Rodrigues de Faria 103

It used to be in Baixa-Alto area
but now moved to #LXFactory.
Make sure you take the picture of its famous bicycle.
More than a bookstore, it's just a hip place to hang out.
