Museu Nacional de Arte Antiga has a vast collection.
It is such a huge place with many priceless works of famous artists.
Regretfully, the outside of the museum needs better maintenance,
none the less, the garden is full of life with flowers here and there.

With a Lisboa Card, you have free admission.
Before you go over there,
it is smart to check out the highlights of its exhibition at the website.

Temptations of St. Anthony by Jheronymus Bosch |
Temptations of St. Anthony are on the first floor.
This Bosch's works were donated by the last King of Portugal, Manuel II
in 1911 one year after Republican Revolution.
In these paintings, St. Anthony is not the same St. Anthony of Portugal.
Here St. Anthony was a monk from Egypt
and is thought to be the first monk.
That's why he is also called the father of all monks.
In the pictures, he goes through ordeals and temptations from the devil.
